Due to construction work, there will be restrictions, some of them severe, on the enno lines RE50 and RE30 in the second half of May. The main reason is the double-track extension of the "Weddeler Schleife" between Weddel and Fallersleben by DB Netz AG, which will be completed by the end of the year 2023.
Due to the construction work, the section of the RE50 line between Braunschweig and Wolfsburg will be closed from the evening of May 13 up to and including May 20. A rail replacement service (SEV) with buses will be set up. During the same period, a switch renewal in Hildesheim will lead to changed travel times between Hoheneggelsen and Hildesheim, so that some RE50 trains will arrive in Hildesheim around 17 minutes late. In addition, some trains on the RE30 Hanover-Wolfsburg line will also be cancelled in the week from May 16 to May 20 in connection with the "Weddeler Schleife" construction project. This affect services in the early morning hours and in the afternoon.
Between Braunschweig and Wolfsburg, there will be three different SEV bus lines with different stops: an SEV line that stops wherever the enno also stops, a fast line that does not stop in Weddel and an express bus that does not stop in Weddel and not in Fallersleben. The two faster lines also stop at "Braunschweig Messeweg" to provide a connection to the tram (line 3) and to other bus lines. For better orientation, the individual bus lines are marked in different colors. Flyers in the trains already inform passengers about the upcoming SEV. The route to the stops will be signposted on site.
"The different lines save us some time, but of course the buses are not as fast as the enno," says a spokeswoman for metronom railway company, to which the enno brand also belongs. Passengers should plan for significantly more time in some cases and are best advised to obtain information via the electronic timetable information at www.der-enno.de or in the FahrPlaner app or the new enno app. All information on the SEV and the timetable changes can also be found on the above-mentioned website in the Timetable/Site Overview section.
